The Wild Game was developed by Stan Johnson of the Colorado Division of Wildlife for students in 6th through 8th grade. The game is designed to allow kids to figure out what hunting and fishing means economically to their community.
The game has several boards in the shape of different animals: elk, deer, duck, antelope and fish. The students work in groups. Each group is given a board, some connecting rods and some red and green spheres. The group that builds the tallest structure wins. Each group has a recorder, a builder and a runner. For each service related to hunting or fishing the runner gets a green sphere and for each product the runner gets a red sphere. The builder then connects the spheres to each other and to the board. At the end of the game each group reads out the list of products and services, which are checked against the number of spheres on the board. The goal of the game is to get kids to understand that hunting and fishing have a positive impact on their community.

We are currently working on the educational standards for the The Wild Game for incorporating this into the classroom curriculum. We'll post those standards as soon as they are completed.
