Join us for a day of fun and outdoor recreation!
Outdoor Heritage Day is a joint effort between the CDOW, BLM, USFS, CMDA, CSWF, RMEF, WTF, DU and others to get kids interested in the outdoors. Our goal is to get 2000 kids and their parents to participate in fishing, shooting, archery, wall climbing, frisbee golf and other outdoor activities.

2010 was the third year for this event and drew over 1900 partipants and gave away over 1000 fishing poles. In it's second year, 2009, the event drew 750 kids and over 1500 total participants.

The winner of the overnight stay in the Moose Manor cabin on Grand Mesa is Jason & Lisa Bittle and family. They were one of 5 families that entered the contest as part of Outdoor Heritage Day. Each family had to go to the forest over the course of the summer and visit different locals, writing about each visit. The winners were drawn by a random pick. The family, Forest Service, Division of Wildlife and Colorado Mule Deer Association will have a media event at the Visitors Center on Grand Mesa on Color Sunday Sept 26th @ 1:00 pm.
